Once again, Nun has two different characters with a 'normal' form and soffit. Both are pronounced as the 'n' would be when used in 'nuts' or 'November':

In this example, you can see that the 'crownlet' is added to the letter. However, the character will often be used in a more simple form without the adornment on top:

This makes more sense of the sofit form of the character which appears without the 'tail' as shown in the previous image:
