Samekh is the 15th letter of the Alephbet and is pronounced as an 's' as it would be in 'savoury' or 'sour':

Be careful when reading not to confuse Samekh with Mem, and especially not with Mem sofit. You will note that in the image, Samekh is rounded whereas Mem is more of a square box, but not all written materials will make the difference as obvious as this.
