You will sometimes see this character with a dagesh mark which in modern Hebrew does not change pronunciation. However, in ancient Hebrew, Tav without the dagesh would have been pronounced 'th' (as it would in the word Sabbath for example).
Furthermore, in Ashkenazi Hebrew, a Tav without the dagesh would be pronounced as an 's', but in modern usage, Tav is a 't', used as it would be in 'terrify' or 'tango'.
